LibrarIN 6th General Assembly Meeting: Steering the Final Phase Forward

The LibrarIN project convened its 6th General Assembly Meeting on 21 May 2025, in the historic city of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), Spain. Hosted by the University of Alcalá, the event took place at the iconic Rectorate building of the University of Alcalá (Colegio de San Ildefonso) – a setting steeped in academic tradition and cultural heritage.

This meeting marked a pivotal point in the project, as partners gathered to assess ongoing progress and shape the strategic direction for the final months. The primary objectives were to:

  • Align partner responsibilities and outputs;
  • Address and clarify open questions;
  • Review the project’s timeline and ensure timely delivery of upcoming milestones;
  • Establish key priorities for the final phase;
  • Agree on a concrete action plan for the next steps.

Spotlight on Progress and Collaboration

The Assembly offered a valuable opportunity to evaluate the progress made across all work packages and strengthen the collaborations that have evolved throughout the project. Discussions centered around the most recent advancements in:

  • WP2: Conceptual framework of participatory management and sustainable growth;
  • WP3: Thematic and empirical work in selected co-creation areas;
  • WP4: Measuring and monitoring co-creation in EU public libraries;
  • WP5: Stakeholders’ co-design and validation;
  • WP6: Dissemination, communication and sustainability.

Special attention was also given to preparations for the upcoming LibrarIN Stakeholder Panel meeting and Final Conference, set to take place just two days later, on 22–23 May 2025.

Defining the Final Priorities

As the project enters its final six months, the consortium partners outlined a set of key priorities to ensure impactful outcomes:

  • Integrated analysis of case studies and survey data;
  • Finalisation of the Conceptual Framework based on validation activities;
  • Publication of academic outputs to share findings with the research community;
  • Completion of LibrarIN Policy Briefs and update of the LibrarIN Toolkit;
  • Execution of Policy Events and final engagements with the Stakeholder Panel;
  • Targeted dissemination campaigns and visibility initiatives;
  • Sustainability planning to secure long-term use and relevance of project outcomes.

A Day of Strategic Planning and Shared Vision

The day concluded with a working dinner, bringing together LibrarIN partners and members of the Stakeholder Panel in an informal yet productive setting. The dinner served as a valuable occasion to continue exchanging ideas and reinforce the shared commitment to the project’s mission.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the University of Alcalá for their warm hospitality and for hosting the General Assembly in such an iconic and inspiring location.

We also gratefully acknowledge the continued dedication and collaboration of all LibrarIN partners and stakeholder panel members – your active participation and shared vision are what drive the success and impact of this project!
